MANGA TRANSLATION
Instructions
Steps:

1. Read the raws
2. If the raw has a Korean/ Chinese saying or idiom, express the underlying meaning or the equivalent saying in english instead of doing the literal translation
3. How to set the translation
Basically the comic will have multiple frames, and inside the frame there will be speech bubbles
and text. You set them up like this: Count the frames and bubbles from left to right [opposite for Chinese/Japanese manga] as you would when reading the manga/manhua/manhwa.

Frame 1
Bubble 1
text 1
bubble 2

Frame 2
bubble 1
bubble 2

4. IMPORTANT: long words like “extraordinarily” and long sentences cannot fit into manhua bubbles, so find synonyms for those big words, and shorten the longer sentences without compromising the meaning.
5. Check if the tone is correct -
6. For characters you have not seen before, the raw and the way the character is acting in the frame should tell you what kind of tone he/she would take.
7. You have to look at tone, context, synonyms to make sure words are used in such a way that they fit the bubbles AND convey the right meaning.
a. Remember the bigger the word the harder it is to fit in a bubble.
8. If there is sound effect look for a english comic onomatopoeia like - Bam, BOOM, Slash,
9. the SFX format should be SFX: BOOM!
10. For names you have not come across, write the names how it would be spelt in English.
11. Do not miss out SFX: if the SFX does not make sense, then invent your own, if the author put down “pa!” when swords clash, you should use something like “clang” instead of writing pa.
12. After you are done load the translation script into a google document and share
-a. Go to http://docs.google.com
-b. Log in with gmail account
-c. Make a new document, paste in your translation
-d. Click share button
-e. Share to "Anyone with Link":
-f. Post the share link to your Translation to the following users in this forum: noobzilla, wryn, blackhorus
13. If you can't be bothered with Step 12, just send your translation to ALL of the following users: wryn, blackhorus, noobzilla via PM

NOVEL TRANSLATION

1. Translate raw...
2. If the raw has a chinese saying or idiom, express the underlying meaning or the equivalent saying in english instead of doing the literal translation
3. Be eloquent, use synonyms instead of repeating the same word.
4. Apply correct tenses.
5. First person narratives are told in past tense, and dialogue and thoughts are in present tense. Keep tenses consistent.
6. You have to look at tone, context, synonyms to make sure words are used correctly
7. Maintain a flow, so that paragraphs/ sentences don’t feel disconnected
8. For names you have not come across, use phonetics and a translation if there is one.
9. You are allowed to restructure sentences completely, and even incorporate a whole line into another to make it sound right. Or you could divide a sentence that is too long into multiple sentences
11. If you can't be bothered with Step 10, just send your translation to ALL of the following users: wryn, blackhorus, noobzilla via PM
